Treatment Cost Explorer

Every private procedure QuoteHub tracks, with sourced NZ cost observations where they exist and honest gaps where no price is published.

Mortgage Protection Calculator

Stress-test your mortgage repayments: what they become if rates rise, the monthly gap if your income stopped, and how long your reserves would bridge it.

Life Insurance Calculator

Calculate how much life insurance your family needs using the DIME method, covering mortgage, debts, income replacement, education, and funeral costs.

Risk Probability Tool

See the statistical probability of death, critical illness, and disability before retirement, personalised by your age, gender, and smoking status.

Income Protection Calculator

TPD Calculator

Calculate lifetime financial needs if permanently unable to work: decades of living costs, mortgage, ongoing medical care.

Business Protection Calculator

Understand the financial impact of losing a key person in your business. Three modes: sole trader, key person, and partnership.

Lifestyle Risk Visualiser

See a side-by-side comparison of what happens to your family's lifestyle with and without insurance across different scenarios.

ACC Gap Calculator

Calculate the gap between what ACC covers and what you actually need, highlighting the illness risk that ACC doesn't touch.

How to use these calculators

Each calculator takes a handful of inputs and returns an indicative figure, not a quote and not financial advice. They exist to make the shape of a problem visible, the size of a gap, the number of years of income at stake, the repayments that would still need paying, so that a conversation with an adviser starts from your own numbers instead of a blank page.

Most people find it useful to run two or three tools rather than one. The

income protection calculator

and the ACC gap calculator answer different halves of the same question, and the

life insurance calculator

is easier to interpret once you have seen what a stopped income does to a household budget.

What the numbers can and cannot tell you

A calculator only knows what you tell it. It cannot see your medical history, the wording of a policy you already hold, or the terms an insurer would actually offer you once you apply, and none of those things are minor. Treat every result here as a starting estimate that needs checking against real policies before you act on it.

None of these tools price cover. QuoteHub does not publish rates for insurance, because the figure that matters is the one an insurer sets after underwriting you, and that depends on details a form cannot capture.

Where to go next

If a result surprises you, read the guide behind it before you decide anything. Our insurance guides explain how each type of cover works in New Zealand, and the methodology page sets out where the assumptions behind these tools come from and how often they are reviewed.
