Southern Cross Wellbeing Plus Options

Southern Cross's Wellbeing policy document calls these the optional modules that can be added to a Wellbeing One or Wellbeing Two plan for extra everyday cover: the Keeping Well Module, Body Care Module, Day-to-day Module and Vision and Dental Module. None of them attracts an excess, each has its own claims-year limits, and two pairs are mutually exclusive.

Questions about Southern Cross Wellbeing Plus Options

What are the Wellbeing Plus Options on a Southern Cross plan?

They are four optional modules, Keeping Well, Body Care, Day-to-day, and Vision and Dental, that can be added to an existing Wellbeing One or Wellbeing Two policy to cover everyday health services the base plan does not, each with its own claims-year limits and no excess (Wellbeing One and Two policy document, retrieved 8 September 2026).

Can I have more than one Wellbeing Plus Option module at once?

Yes, with two restrictions: the Keeping Well Module cannot be combined with the Day-to-day Module or the Vision and Dental Module. The Body Care Module can be combined with any of the other three (Wellbeing One and Two policy document, retrieved 8 September 2026).

Does Wellbeing Two cover dental?

Only if the Keeping Well Module (combined $200/yr across several services including dental) or the Vision and Dental Module (75% of dental costs to $750/yr) is added; neither Wellbeing One nor Wellbeing Two covers dental as a base benefit on its own (Wellbeing One and Two policy document, retrieved 8 September 2026).

Does Southern Cross Wellbeing 2 cover physio?

General, ongoing physiotherapy is only covered if the Day-to-day Module is added, up to $300 each claims year; the base Wellbeing Two plan only covers post-operative physiotherapy within six months of related eligible surgery, chemotherapy or radiotherapy.

Does Southern Cross cover ADHD assessment?

Not as a named benefit. An ADHD assessment by a GP could fall within the Keeping Well or Day-to-day Module's GP consultation limits if one of those modules is held; the policy document does not list ADHD assessment as its own benefit, so confirm coverage with Southern Cross before booking.

Which Wellbeing Plus Option is best for GP visits?

The Day-to-day Module pays $65 per GP visit with no combined cap shared across other services, versus the Keeping Well Module's $200 combined limit across GP, nurse, optometry, audiology and dental together; someone who mainly wants GP cover generally gets more from the Day-to-day Module (Wellbeing One and Two policy document, retrieved 8 September 2026).

Is the Body Care Module worth adding?

It depends on how often you use acupuncture, massage therapy, chiropractic, osteopathy, homeopathy or naturopathy: the combined $500 a year limit covers roughly four to eight typical consultations, so frequent users of allied or natural health services get more value from it than occasional users.

Does adding a Wellbeing Plus Option cost extra?

Yes, each module is priced as an addition to your Wellbeing premium; Southern Cross does not publish a standard rate for the modules, since pricing depends on age, the base plan and the specific module chosen. An adviser or Southern Cross quote will show the exact addition.

Can I remove a Wellbeing Plus Option once I've added it?

The policy document states an added optional module can generally only be removed at your next policy renewal rather than mid-year, though the exact process should be confirmed with Southern Cross directly, as removal terms can change.

What is not covered under the Vision and Dental Module?

Dental and vision services are paid at 75% of the actual cost up to the claims-year maximum, so 25% of the bill remains with the member on eligible claims; cosmetic dental or vision treatments and anything outside the module's specific service list are excluded.

Adviser's view

QuoteHub's read is that these modules exist to convert a Wellbeing plan from catastrophic-only cover into something closer to UltraCare, one slice at a time. Before adding one, compare its premium against UltraCare 400 outright: bundling several modules can cost more than the fully day-to-day plan it is trying to approximate.
