How does the Tower insurance promo code EASYSAVE work?

General information, not advice on your situation. Buying through Tower's online quote is direct, without advice. QuoteHub is a Tower partner and Smiths Insurance & KiwiSaver may receive a commission from Tower.

Yes. Tower's promo code is EASYSAVE, and it takes $200 off the first year of a new house policy, or $100 off a new comprehensive car or contents policy, if you buy between 20 September 2026 and 30 January 2027 (Tower's EASYSAVE terms). It is a one-off discount on the first year, not a lower ongoing rate. The code also works when a Tower partner, broker or adviser refers you, so you do not have to start on Tower's own website.

Most of the confusion about promo codes is not the amount but the eligibility. Several Tower covers are left out, a replacement policy on something you already insured with Tower does not count, and the timing rules catch people who buy early. This page works through each of those from Tower's own terms, so you can check before you pay. Tower can change or cancel the promotion (Tower's EASYSAVE terms), so its terms page is the final word.

What EASYSAVE is worth, by cover

New Tower policy Discount off the first year
House (Standard, Plus or Premium), including Landlord's Plus $200 (Tower's terms)
Comprehensive car, including commercial vehicle comprehensive $100 (Tower's terms)
Contents (Standard, Plus or Premium) $100 (Tower's terms)

Each eligible policy gets its own discount, and the code is used once per policy. A buyer who takes out a house policy and a contents policy is buying two eligible policies, so two discounts apply, a $200 one and a $100 one (Tower's EASYSAVE terms).

The discount comes off what Tower's terms call the Tower Premium, which is the base premium before GST, Fire and Emergency levies and Natural Hazards Commission levies. Those taxes and levies are added after the discount, and the discount cannot be swapped for cash or any other benefit (Tower's EASYSAVE terms). If you pay the first year in instalments, the discount is spread across them. If the policy is cancelled part way through the year, the discount is pro-rated to how long the policy ran (Tower's EASYSAVE terms).

Which purchases qualify

The promotion covers new Tower-branded policies only. A few situations come up often:

Situation Eligible?
New house, contents or Landlord's Plus policy on a home you have not insured with Tower recently Yes
New comprehensive car policy (private or commercial) Yes
House and contents bought together Yes, each policy is assessed separately
Third party fire and theft, or third party only car cover No
Lifestyle block or farm insurance No
Contract works (renovation) cover No
Renewal of a policy you already have No, the discount is first year only
New policy replacing one you held with Tower on the same asset in the three months before 20 September 2026 No
Tower employees, or customers already on a staff, employer or partner discount No
Trade Me Insurance, Westpac Insurance, or policies underwritten by Tower's Pacific group companies No

All of that is from Tower's terms (Tower's EASYSAVE terms). The replacement rule is the one people miss. Counting back three months from 20 September 2026 takes you to about 20 June 2026, so if you cancelled a Tower car policy in July and are now coming back to it, a new policy on the same car would not qualify. A new policy on a different car or home could.

The dates, counted out

Tower's terms give three timing conditions. The dates in the middle column below are Tower's; the last column is a calendar count from them, so check it against your own purchase date.

Rule What the terms say Worked out
Buy with the code Between 12:00am Sunday 20 September 2026 and 11:59pm Saturday 30 January 2027 Last day to buy with the code is 30 January 2027
Saved-quote route Save an online quote in the window, then buy within 30 days after it ends Buy by about 1 March 2027
Cover start The period of insurance must begin within 49 days of the purchase date A purchase on 30 January 2027 needs cover to start by about 20 March 2027

Source for the middle column: (Tower's EASYSAVE terms). A quote you saved before 20 September 2026 does not pick up the code automatically, so start a fresh quote inside the window.

Two common New Zealand cases show how these interact:

Entering the code so the discount counts

Online, type EASYSAVE exactly as written, with the right spelling and no spaces. Over the phone, you have to quote the code to Tower during the call (Tower's EASYSAVE terms). Tower says the discount only applies if the code is entered correctly, so check the quote summary for the reduction before you pay. If you do not see it, stop and sort it out first rather than relying on a refund afterwards.

The code cannot be combined with another offer, discount or promotion unless Tower advises otherwise (Tower's EASYSAVE terms). If you want a new quote first, the Tower quote guide walks through what the online tool asks.

Other Tower discounts, and what the code does not change

Tower's terms index lists other promotions and partner or staff discounts alongside EASYSAVE, each with its own conditions, so a different code may suit your situation (Tower's EASYSAVE terms). Separately, Tower says it no longer offers a multi-policy discount on new policies. Its page says that if you hold several policies and claim on more than one for the same event, you may only pay one excess, the highest, subject to terms and limits (Tower's multi-policy discount page). The Tower claims guide covers how claims work.

A promotion lowers the first year's bill. It does not change what the policy covers, the excess, the exclusions or the premium you will see in year two. Those come from the policy wording, which QuoteHub covers for Tower house insurance, Tower contents insurance and Tower car insurance. Landlords can compare how the two main property covers differ in the landlord vs house insurance guide.

Other insurers sell house, contents and car cover too, and they run their own offers. Sum insured, excess, limits and claims handling are worth weighing alongside a one-year discount, and the home and contents insurance guide and comprehensive car insurance guide explain what to look at.

Getting a quote from Tower online

Have your details ready before you start: for a house, the address, build year, construction, floor area and sum insured; for a car, the registration number and driver history. QuoteHub's link opens Tower's online quote, which is Tower's own tool, so the terms, price and policy wording you see are Tower's. Read the policy wording and the EASYSAVE terms yourself before you pay.

Questions people ask

Does Tower have a discount code right now?

As at 6 October 2026, yes. EASYSAVE runs from 20 September 2026 to 30 January 2027 (Tower's EASYSAVE terms). Tower's terms page lists other promotions with their own conditions, so check which one fits the cover you want.

How do I get a discount on Tower insurance?

For a new eligible policy, use EASYSAVE inside the window. Tower no longer offers a multi-policy discount on new policies (Tower's multi-policy discount page), so buying several covers together does not earn a bundle discount, though each eligible policy still gets its own EASYSAVE discount (Tower's EASYSAVE terms).

Does the Tower promo code work for existing customers?

Not for a renewal. The discount is for new eligible policies, and a replacement policy on an asset you insured with Tower in the three months before 20 September 2026 is not eligible (Tower's EASYSAVE terms). An existing customer buying a new policy for a different asset could qualify if no exclusion applies.

Do I need the code if a broker or adviser sends me to Tower?

Yes. The terms accept purchases that follow a referral from a Tower partner, broker or adviser, online or by phone, but the code still has to be entered or quoted (Tower's EASYSAVE terms).

Can I use EASYSAVE with another discount?

Generally no. The terms say the code cannot be used with any other offer, discount or promotion unless Tower advises otherwise, and customers already on a staff, employer or partner discount are excluded altogether (Tower's EASYSAVE terms).

Does the discount apply every year?

No. It comes off the first year's premium only, and at renewal Tower sets the premium at the prevailing price for that time (Tower's EASYSAVE terms).

Adviser's view

QuoteHub's read: the EASYSAVE terms turn on four checks, a new eligible policy, the right dates, no exclusion applying and the code entered exactly, so confirm each one before you pay.
