Momentum Life NZ contact details

Financial advice is provided by Craig Smith Business Services Limited, trading as Smiths Insurance & KiwiSaver, a licensed Financial Advice Provider (FSP712931). QuoteHub is a trading name.

Momentum Life publishes 0800 111 679 for buying a new policy and 0800 108 108 for current policy holders, claims and complaints, both open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Email [email protected] for policy questions, [email protected] for claims and [email protected] for complaints. The postal address is PO Box 90136, Victoria St West, Auckland 1142.

This page lists the contact channels Momentum Life Limited publishes on its contact page, in its claims page and in its policy wordings, as read on 20 October 2026. Momentum Life is the insurer for both of its products, Funeral Insurance and Quick Life, and also administers the policies, which includes collecting premiums, assessing claims and paying valid claims. So policy, claim and complaint questions go to Momentum, not to QuoteHub. Phone numbers and hours change, so if one does not connect, use the contact page or the contact details printed in your own policy wording.

Which number to ring

Momentum splits its phone service by what you want to do. The numbers below are as Momentum prints them; all are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, except the overseas number, which has no hours stated.

You want to Phone Email or post
Buy a new policy 0800 111 679 None listed for sales
Ask about a policy you hold 0800 108 108 [email protected]
Make a claim 0800 108 108 (the claims FAQ says "option 3") [email protected] (the claims page and both wordings; the contact page lists customercare@ for claims)
Complain or give feedback 0800 108 108 [email protected]
Ring from outside New Zealand +64 4889 4800 None listed

Source: Momentum Life: Contact us and Momentum Life: Claims, retrieved 20 October 2026. The Quick Life policy wording also prints 0800 108 108, [email protected] and [email protected] as its "need to get in touch" details.

One thing to watch: Momentum's contact page labels 0800 111 679 as the new-policy line (it also shows it, with no hours, under customer support and FAQs). The wordings print 0800 108 108 for existing customers, so if you already hold a policy, use that number.

Where to post things

Momentum publishes a postal address, not a street address:

Its contact page lists no street address or registered office. If you need the legal registered office of the company, the New Zealand Companies Office register is the place to look. We have not copied an address from a third-party listing, because we could not tie it to a Momentum source.

What to have ready before you call

You will get a faster answer if you can say which product and which person the call is about. Have these to hand:

  1. Your policy schedule. The Funeral Insurance wording says your premium is shown on the schedule, and the Quick Life wording says the acceptance date is. Have it open before you call about a premium or a start date.
  2. The name of the person insured and, if different, the policy owner. The policy owner is the person who asks for changes, such as a new payment method. A Funeral Insurance owner must be a natural person and a New Zealander, and the wording says Momentum cannot pay the benefit directly to a company, charity or other organisation.
  3. Your question in one line. For example, "Is a claim for my mother's accidental death covered?" or "I want to cancel within the free look."
  4. Dates. Both products have a 30-day free look, and Funeral Insurance counts it from the Acceptance Date while Quick Life counts it from the policy start date. Quick Life tells you to call or email [email protected] if you want to cancel in that time.

If you are phoning on behalf of someone who has died, read the claims page first. It lists the documents Momentum asks for.

Claims contact and paperwork

Claims go to the same phone number as other policy matters (0800 108 108) or to [email protected]. Momentum's claims page lists forms for a funeral benefit, life and accidental death, accidental serious injury, terminal illness and trauma. A claim form can be downloaded from momentumlife.co.nz or Momentum can send you one.

The Funeral Insurance wording says the claimant must supply proof "at his or her own expense", which may include a form completed by a medical practitioner, other medical information Momentum reasonably requires, and a death certificate. It adds that Momentum will not pay unless all premiums due have been paid. Momentum says valid claims are paid "usually within 24 - 48 hours of approval", which starts from approval, not from the date of death (Funeral Insurance Policy Wording). Quick Life's wording says the same about payment "usually within 48 hours" of approval (Quick Life Policy Wording).

Two limits to keep in mind when you make a claim. In the first 24 months, Funeral Insurance pays only for death caused by an accident within 90 days of it, and any other death in that window pays nothing and returns all premiums paid for that person. In the first 2 years, Quick Life does not pay for a pre-existing condition or for suicide. See Funeral Cover and Quick Life for the full rules.

If you need to complain

Start with the Customer Care Team on 0800 108 108 or [email protected]. Momentum's complaints page says it will acknowledge a complaint within 2 business days. The Quick Life wording sets out later steps: a complaints manager aims to reply within 10 business days, then an internal dispute resolution team aims to give a formal response, usually in writing, within 2 months. If that fails, a letter of deadlock starts a period of up to 3 months in which you can take the complaint to the Insurance & Financial Services Ombudsman Scheme (IFSO).

IFSO is free to you, and both wordings say its assessment is binding on Momentum Life. Its details, as printed in both wordings, are freephone 0800 888 202, [email protected], ifso.nz and PO Box 10-845, Wellington 6143. The full process is on the Momentum Life complaints page. A complaint about QuoteHub's own service is a separate matter handled under the process on our disclosure page.

Contacting an adviser instead

Momentum's staff can answer questions about its own products only. If you want to compare Momentum with other insurers, or you are in good health and may be able to get more cover for less through fully underwritten cover, ask a licensed adviser. Our funeral insurance hub and guaranteed acceptance hub explain how the options differ.

Policy documents and brochures

Momentum does not need a call to send you the terms. Both policy wordings are public PDFs: Funeral Insurance Policy Wording (17 August 2023) and Quick Life Policy Wording (November 2025). Read the wording before you buy, as it is the contract, and brochure-style summaries leave things out.

About the insurer

You are phoning an insurer rated B (Fair) by A.M. Best (affirmed 11 February 2026), a rating that sits in the "vulnerable" range of A.M. Best's scale. That is an opinion on ability to pay claims, not a recommendation. Momentum's financial strength page also shows a solvency ratio of 107% at 30 June 2026, and says the rating scale can be inspected at any Momentum Life office in New Zealand. The review explains what that means in practice.

Adviser's view

Momentum publishes one number for buying a policy and a different one for everything after, so use the right line. Phone hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and the only postal address it publishes is a PO Box. Complaints and claims have their own emails.
